Abundant Life
Apostolic Church of Christ Doctrine
We believe in the Bible as the inerrant Word of God verbally inspired and all-sufficient rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:89)
We believe in one God, who is a Spirit, who has manifested himself to the world as Father in creation, Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit in the Church (In Us). (Isaiah 43:10; John 4:24)
We believe in the virgin birth, the sinless perfection, the bodily resurrection, and the ascension into Heaven of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and until this present time, He is there for us as our High Priest and Advocate. (Matthew 1:23; Acts 1:9; 1 John 2:1)
We believe man was created in the image and likeness of God. Man’s disobedience to God thereby incurred spiritual death (alienation or separation from God) and physical death as consequences. We believe that the Adamic race is born in sin and are sinners by nature and practice. (Genesis 1:27; 2:17)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice and that all who believe in Him and are baptized in His name and receive His spirit are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. (Hebrews 10:10; Isaiah 53:5; Acts 2:38)
We believe in the premillennial and the imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11)
We believe that all who believe by faith on the Lord Jesus Christ and repent and are baptized in water in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost are saved. This new birth will place every Believer into the Body of Christ, thereby making them children of God. (Acts 2:38)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting relationship to God of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost. (John 5:24-29)
We believe the Church or Body of Christ is a called-out company of Believers baptized by the Holy Ghost into one body. Its mission is the witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, proclaiming the gospel among all nations until the Lord Jesus comes to redeem His purchased possession, the Church (Body of Christ). (1 Corinthians 12:27)
We believe the Grace of God and obedience to His Word to be sufficient for the maintenance of the Godly walk, and that Christ (not the law) is the Believers rule of life. (John 14:15)
This doctrinal position includes the following:
(1) We believe in the eternal security of the Church, which was predestined in Christ before the foundation of the world. (John 10:28)
(2) We believe in the pretribulational catching away of the Church. (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
(3) We believe that the Gifts of the Holy Ghost are still in operation in the Body of Christ today (Church). (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
